Ruidoso, New Mexico

We took a little vacation to Ruidoso, New Mexico for Daddy's birthday and the New Year. We had a great time in such a beautiful place. We went inner-tubing down the mountain at WinterPark, less than a mile from the condo we stayed in. We had so much fun we went two days in a row. We visited Ski Apache, but didn't ski (long, bad story I'll never tell). We took pictures at the look out stop on the way down the mountain. We had fresh snowfall the first night we arrived after the 12 hour trip there, no we did not drive straight through. We stopped and stayed at a hotel in Ft. Stockton and had breakfast at IHOP before we headed out. When I say "we drove", by that I mean Daddy drove-the-entire-way. What a guy! We rented a minivan (Maya was ecstatic, she can't wait to have one) for the trip. When the snow first started falling our first night we hadn't had dinner and were going to eat. On the way back to the condo, it was very quiet and very slow because of all of the fresh snow pouring out of the sky. It was beautiful once we were parked, but a little scary on the drive up and down on the slick roads, sure made for a beautiful morning. We remembered how glad we are to not live in the cold of Ohio anymore (sorry!). I had to take a picture of the outside temperature, it was 18 degrees! The kids had a blast and so did we!
