Happy Birthday Logan

Here are some pictures of Logan's 3rd Birthday! At preschool he got to go up on the stage where the entire school sang "Happy Birthday to You". He made a birthday crown that he proudly wore all day at school and most of the day Saturday. Because of Hurricane Ike we cancelled his backyard BBQ party, but when I told Logan that the friends were not going to be able to come he looked at me very seriously and said, "But, Mommy, I already had my party and they sang to me and we ate cupcakes!" (Thursday at preschool) I explained that we were going to celebrate his birthday because even though it was a storm outside it was still the day he was born. And we are his family and very happy he is here. He agreed once I said that cupcakes were involved. He had requested balloons, which Daddy picked up on Friday (since I was in bed with the flu-great timing huh?). I managed to decorate with some streamers and a Happy Birthday sign along with the balloons and we were set. We sang to Logan and he tried to blow out the #3 candle (which Maya helped him with). Daddy, Maya and Logan all had cupcakes and ice cream sandwiches. Then Logan opened his cards and gifts. Later that afternoon he was a happy boy when he told me that "this is my party and Daddy came and Maya came and Mommy came!" We were without power for several days and when the power came back on we went out to dinner to celebrate at a Hibachi restaurant, where the people we were eating with (who we had just met) had the restaurant sing and bring Logan ice cream to celebrate his birthday. He shared with Maya and told us that he got to have three parties! I was going to reschedule his "Backyard BBQ" but he keeps saying that he already had his party, so I guess we'll do it next year. He really had only one guest and he was not invited--Hurricane Ike came to Logan's Birthday! We'll never forget the big #3.
